When Sempa, an animal welfare group in Brazil, first took in a 2-legged dog who had been abandoned, their first task was to find out where he came from.
The little pooch had been brought in by a man who he had found the animal wandering on his own on the streets.
Putting together pieces of the puzzle
But after realising that Sempa was not dropping their search for the dog’s previous owners, the man finally admitted that the dog was his.
Shortly after, CCTV footage emerged and revealed the exact details of the dog’s abandonment. He had been driven to the man’s place of work by his wife, who dumped him there brusquely without looking back. Though not caught on camera, the man later drove the dog to Sempa, where he relinquished him without mentioning that he was the owner.
Because the owners were dishonest from the start, Sempa will be filing charges against them. In Brazil, abandoning animals is a crime.
A new life for a well-deserving dog
The ill-fated animal, whose name is actually Tintim, was, sadly, abandoned twice. First by one of his owners, and a second time by the other.
Luckily, it does look like Tintim’s luck is changing. He is now being cared for in an animal shelter and is waiting for adoption. 10 families have already shown interest in him, so things look promising.
We hope Tintim will find his forever home very soon!
