In an adorable and amusing moment, a Newfoundland named Homer tried to assist his owner with making the bed, but his helpfulness left much to be desired.

The big, fluffy Newfoundland dog clearly wanted to do his part.

Unfortunately, the lack of thumbs and an understanding of how to make a bed properly meant his efforts only made the chore harder for his owner.

Helpful Homer

In a video shared by his owner, Homer enthusiastically jumped onto the bed, attempting to 'help' by pawing at the sheets. Despite his clear intentions, he only managed to tangle the blankets further, prompting his exasperated owner to say, "Homer, I don't need help making the bed! You're not helping at all!"

Undeterred, Homer let out a little bark and stepped off the bed, seemingly realising that maybe he wasn't quite cut out for the task.

Gold star for effort!

However, the online community was quick to show their support for the well-meaning pup.  Commenters joked about his noble intentions, with one saying, "He's just making sure the sheets don't fly away!"

Despite his failure, Homer’s attempt to help left everyone smiling, and his owner, too, appreciated his loyal effort.

Well done for trying, Homer!
