Simon, a charming Greyface Dartmoor lamb with a distinctive dark nose, may now enjoy a peaceful life exploring the outdoors, but his early days were anything but easy.
Born a week early, Simon tragically lost both his mother and twin brother shortly after birth due to complications. Despite his fighting spirit, attempts to have him adopted by other ewes were unsuccessful—none would accept the vulnerable lamb, despite his owners’ best efforts.
A surprising surrogate
With no other options left, they decided to try something rather unconventional.
Knowing the gentle and affectionate nature of their loyal Labrador, Digby, Simon’s owners had an idea, could their kind-hearted dog provide the companionship and security the lamb so desperately needed?
As soon as Simon was introduced to Digby, the dog instinctively took on his new role. He sniffed the tiny lamb curiously before quickly showing his friendly intentions. Simon, in turn, was immediately comforted by his new protector, who would soon become his best friend.
Social media star
Digby is something of a star on his owners' TikTok account, often seen with animals of all kinds. Sociable and loving, he has a special way of making every creature feel at home.
Thanks to Digby, Simon was able to recover from his difficult start in life with a true friend by his side. Now, he thrives on his owners’ hobby farm, where all their animals, both furry and feathered, are cherished as part of the family.
