In Canada, passers-by spotted a very thin and starving ginger kitten wandering the streets.

They gave him food, which he immediately devoured; it was clear he hadn’t eaten for days. The kitten stayed in the same spot over the following days, hoping for another meal.

One of the residents who had helped the kitten posted online asking for assistance.

Several animal rescuers quickly sprang into action after seeing the Facebook post. Isabelle, Linda, and Guylaine teamed up to secure the kitten, and one of them drove him two hours to Montreal, where volunteers from Chatons Orphelins Montréal were waiting to welcome him.

The rescuers named the kitten Saffron. He was in poor condition, so thin you could feel every bone beneath his fur. Saffron was treated for an eye infection, fever, and stomach issues. A foster family volunteered to give Saffron a safe and comfortable place to recuperate. After just a few days of nourishing meals and care, he began to gain weight and energy. Saffron quickly adjusted to his new life as an indoor cat, showered with love and gentleness.

Second chance

The once-anxious kitten became more confident and relaxed in his foster home. He now loves lounging on the sofa with his human and feline friends and has turned into a purring machine!

Saffron has now fully recovered and is bursting with energy. After weeks in foster care, he has blossomed into a beautiful cat with a gentle and charming personality.

These days, Saffron can be found basking in the sun by the window, snuggled up in his bed surrounded by toys, playing and purring contentedly until he falls asleep. We hope he soon finds a loving forever family!
