Ryan filmed the moment his daughter decided to explore a hiking trail on her own.
Her dad trusted her and kept a watchful eye on her throughout the journey.
A very protective dog
During this time, Ivy, the family dog, kept a close watch on her.
Ivy had been instructed to let the little girl walk by herself.
The dog followed this instruction well, but you can see she's eager to join the little girl.
When the girl felt she had accomplished the challenge she set for herself, she turned to her dad and said, "I did it!"
You can see that the little one seems absolutely delighted.
Time to intervene
At this point, Ivy decided that the distance was sufficient and ran to join the little one.
The dog was by her charge's side in no time!
Some internet users were a bit concerned seeing the little one wander so far alone:
"I started to get anxious too... like, um, where do you think you're going, young lady."
"I love her spirit! It's so good to have her guardian angels watching over her too."
