Despite the flight attendant’s clear reminder for passengers to stow their luggage beneath the seat in front of them, one traveller faced an unusual challenge.
Her "bag", in this case, a large and fluffy assistance dog, simply couldn’t comply.
Four-legged luggage
The passenger, travelling with her Border Collie in the cabin, is allowed to keep the dog by her side as it is a registered assistance animal. Unlike pet dogs, assistance animals are permitted to remain outside of a carrier and do not travel in the aircraft hold.
As the crew reminded passengers to place all items under their seats, it became clear that this canine companion wasn’t going to fit. Nevertheless, the dog did its best to curl up quietly at its owner’s feet, displaying calm behaviour throughout.
Composed canine
The clip, viewed over two million times, has sparked both admiration and curiosity. Many users praised the dog’s composure, while others asked for tips on flying with a dog.
The dog's owner later shared travel advice in follow-up videos, including suggestions such as bringing chew treats to help relieve ear pressure during take-off and landing.
Judging by the dog's calm and well-behaved manner, it’s safe to say this is one experienced frequent flyer even if he doesn’t quite fit under the seat.
