The firefighters' swift response and expertise safely removed the dog from the boiling hot car. Photos revealed firefighters providing the pup with water and comforting cuddles as they nursed it back to health.

Successful rescue

The post attracted an outpouring of appreciation from the animal-loving community, with comments praising their efforts.

Some people asked about the dog's owners and what would happen to them. The department reassured everyone that the correct authorities had been notified and that they were cooperating fully with the investigation.

Thank goodness that the dog was spotted when it was and the firefighters were able to act so quickly or it might have been a tragic end.

We’ll never say it enough: Pets die in hot cars! Never leave your pet in a car on a hot day. If it's hot and you have things to do, leave your pet at home! If you see an animal in distress in a hot car, call 999 immediately. Unlike animal rescue services, police have powers to break into the vehicle if they believe the animal is at risk.
