Cutting your dog’s nails regularly is an essential part of dog grooming.
But many pups never get used to the sensation of having their nails clipped or even the sight and sound of the clippers.
Toenail terror
A video clip shared online reveals the experiences of a German Shepherd who seems to prefer to be doing something else than having a pedicure.
The dog can be seen sitting on its owner’s lap and initially looks relatively calm and relaxed.
But then, as soon as the man begins clipping, the dog's eyes suddenly get huge, and the pup looks away as if it doesn’t want to look at what’s happening to it.
Traumatic event
The German Shepherd may be a big dog, but at that moment, they looked like a frightened little puppy.
But while the dog’s unease is written all over their face, they remain perfectly still in their owner's arms, desperately hoping that the traumatic event will be over any minute.
The Reddit clip attracted hundreds of comments, many from dog owners saying that their dog reacted the same way or that they wished their pup stayed as still as this dog.
How does your dog react to nail trims? Hopefully better than some of these dramatic pups:
