On closer inspection, she realised they were stray dogs.
Concerned for their welfare and the safety of the area, she promptly contacted Saginaw County Animal Care and Control.
Pups in poor condition
Two animal control officers soon arrived to assess the situation.
The dogs were in poor condition, their fur dirty and their tummies visibly swollen. Nervous and wary of the officers, the pair kept their distance.
Using gentle voices and offering treats, the rescuers calmed the frightened animals and gained their trust. Slowly, the dogs moved closer, allowing the officers to handle them safely.
Safe and comfortable at last
Once secured, the dogs were transported to the shelter, where they received immediate medical attention and a proper meal. Finally, they could rest on soft blankets, safe and comfortable.
The two dogs, one shy and quiet, the other lively and outgoing, have since brought joy to their caretakers.
They remain in quarantine until they can be put up for adoption. Rescuers hope the duo will find a forever home together. So do we!
Good luck, pups!
