When Emily Bott and Dylan Loewke first walked into the farmhouse, they got quite the fright.
Nobody had prepared them for some surprise furry friends, who seemed confused they now had company.
A furry family
The farmhouse, it turned out, was already home to over a dozen barn cats, of all different ages and personalities.
The estate agent reassured them that if they were to buy the property, the cats would no longer be there. But when it came to making an offer, Emily and Dylan had a very special request.
They asked for the cats to be left at the farm, committing to their care and adopting the sweet little family.
Slowing gaining their trust
At first, the cats found it difficult to trust the couple. They had clearly not been used to attention and affection from their previous family, so it took time and patience to gain their trust.
One by one, they grew in confidence, and Emily and Dylan gave each cat a name.
The cats now run over to greet their family, excited to see them and eagerly waiting for their daily treat.
