Pop star Robbie Williams and TV personality Ayda Field are grieving the loss of their two dogs, Poupette and Walle, who passed away on the same night.

Heartbroken Field shared the news on social media with a series of photos of the dogs.

Field described Poupette as her "soulmate" and noted that the dog had been a part of her life for 18 years.

Passed away together

She wrote, "Today, our dogs Poupette & Walle left this planet to start an adventure in an infinite galaxy far, far away. They died together in bed, listening to 'Dancing Queen,' surrounded by tremendous love."

Poupette was a constant companion for Field, who recalled that she was often referred to as "my shadow."

When Field met Williams six months later, she told him that Poupette was part of the package. Williams, who initially had three large dogs, quickly fell in love with Poupette, proving himself to be as devoted to the tiny dog as Field was.

Beloved canine companions

The couple later welcomed Walle into their lives, making him a beloved part of their blended family. Walle was particularly cherished and even played a role in their wedding in 2010, with Poupette serving as Field's maid of honour and Walle as Williams' best man.

Field reflected on their shared history, noting that Poupette and Walle had been with them through major life events, including the births of their four children and numerous tours. She shared that she is taking time to mourn the loss of her loyal companions.

RIP Walle and Poupette
