Gigi thought her luck had changed when she was taken out of the shelter for a day. But her joy was short lived, and she soon found herself back behind bars.

TikTok user ex_barista fell in love with Gigi when they learned of her story online. So they decided to become a vritual foster, regularly taking the sweet Staffie mix on trips away.

And while Gigi loves her weekly outings, her heartbreak at coming back to the shelter is hard to watch.

The joy disappears from her face

With her kind foster carer, Gigi gets to go on all kinds of adventures. She spends time wandering around in the woods, eating ice cream and playing in the river.

But at the end of the day ex_barista has to bring Gigi back to kennels. They captured her sweet expression on the ride back, and the clip has now been seen by over 4 million people.

The joy on Gigi's face disappears when she realises what's happening, and no amount of cuddles from her foster seem to help.

In need of a home

More than anything, sweet Gigi just needs to find a home of her own. A loving family where outings and ice cream aren't a one off, they're a regular occurrence.

And thanks to her foster, she's getting the visibility she needs to help her find the perfect family.

@ex_barista Saddest part about only taking gigi out of the shelter for a few hours is returning her to the shelter. Gigi (Grab N Go) is waiting for her forever person at RACC, ✨her adoption link is in my bio✨ I’m her virtual foster. I take her on an outing once a week and post about her in hopes to find her a home. @Richmond Animal Care & Control #shelterdog #shelterpetsoftiktok #shelterdogsoftiktok #pitbull #dogadoption ♬ fade into you - refilmx
