A family had a big surprise when they walked into their guest room to investigate strange noises.

To their astonishment, they found six newborn kittens and their mother, a stray cat who had sneaked in and given birth.

Feline home invader

The heavily pregnant cat, seeking refuge from the ongoing heatwave, had likely entered the home overnight. Initially startled by the discovery, the homeowners quickly contacted a local rescue organisation.

Shauna, the founder of Cheshire Cat Rescue, thinks that DreamCloud the cat had cleverly chosen this spot as a safe haven to give birth.

Shauna and her team used a humane trap to bring DreamCloud and her kittens into their care.

Devoted mum

DreamCloud, initially wary and protective, soon began to trust Shauna. Settling into a temperature-controlled area with soft blankets and regular care, DreamCloud took to her mothering duties with dedication.

As the kittens grow stronger and more curious, DreamCloud remains a vigilant and loving mother. Once the kittens are weaned, DreamCloud will be ready to look for a loving family to give her a forever home.
