Purina concluded its ‘Getting REAL in Nutrition’ roadshow, held from April to July 2024 across the UK, successfully raising £2,000 for StreetVet.

StreetVet provides free veterinary care to pets belonging to individuals experiencing homelessness. The roadshow, which featured the renowned veterinary surgeon Cat Henstridge, also known as Cat the Vet, as a guest speaker, offered over six hours of practical, nutrition-focused Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions.

Roadshow highlights

The roadshow aimed to equip attendees with the knowledge and confidence to improve canine and feline nutrition in their practices. With events in Manchester, Stirling, Belfast, Surrey, Peterborough, and Cardiff, participants paid a nominal £10 fee, the total of which was entirely donated to StreetVet.

The event featured expert speakers, including Purina’s Libby Sheridan, Adam Rampling, and Laura Hughes. Cat the Vet shared invaluable tips on integrating nutrition into the busy life of veterinary practices, sparking engaging discussions at every location.

Supporting StreetVet

The funds raised will support StreetVet's mission to provide essential veterinary services to pets of the homeless. Cat the Vet expressed her honour in contributing to such a meaningful cause, stating that the donation will significantly impact StreetVet’s ongoing work. Jade Statt, Co-Founder of StreetVet, also expressed her gratitude for the support from Purina and the veterinary community, saying: "This partnership not only provides much-needed financial support but also helps to raise awareness about the vital work we do across the UK.”

Purina is a strong supporter of StreetVet with the charity winning its Better with Pets prize twice. Registered clients of the charity and pets supported by the StreetVet Accredited Hostel Scheme are also able to feed Purina petfoods to their pets – both veterinary and maintenance foods – free of charge.
