Groomers are often asked to deal with tricky tangles and dirty coats. But sometimes cases come in that leave even the most experienced professionals shocked.
And this is exactly what happened here.
The sweetest boy
Sharing his story alongside a series of pictures on Reddit, the dog groomer listed the conditions he came in with.
"Tick infested, ear infections, hematomas, but luckily not a single cut and most of the ticks were dead. Pelted matting and still was the sweetest boy", she wrote.
Dog lovers everywhere were touched by the images, which showed the poor pup's severely matted fur, and the collection of parasites that came off him during the grooming process.
"I have never sobbed so violently while doing a dog before", explained the groomer.
A fresh start
Dog lovers viewing the images were outraged by the dog's condition, with many questioning why the case hadn't been reported.
The caring groomer went on to explain that the 2-year-old had never seen a professional before, as the owners feared they may have their dog taken away from them. Preferring to help the owners rather than turn them away, they hoped this marked the beginning for this sweet boy.
Thankfully, by the end of the session, he was already acting "like an entirely new dog".
