A former customer of Mexican restaurant Guzman y Gomez recently took to Reddit to share the surprising story of a couple and their dog.
With over 17,000 upvotes, the image has sparked debate among viewers all over Sydney.
"Please take your dog away"
The image looks perfectly innocent at first. A couple enjoying an evening out, in the company of their four-legged friend.
But what has people concerned isn't so much the dog's presence, it's where he's sitting.
Perched on the countertop, where food is served, the scene left some viewers 'horrified'.
"This couple with their dog on the counter where people eat", reads the caption, to which one viewer responded, "please take your dog away from my food".
Called out
Following the photo, a spokesperson for the restaurant recently told FEMAIL, "GYG's Shift Leader asked the guest to take the dog off the table as soon as they saw this occurring. It appears another guest took the photo prior to this occurring".
They then went on to explain that the restaurant doesn't even allow dogs in the restaurant itself, and that they followed all policies as soon as they realised what was going on.
Unfortunately, the image had already started circulating, with many outraged by the owners' actions. "These people are the reason restaurants say no to dogs", shared one viewer.
