When his beloved owner died, Cuba's world fell apart. He lost the person he loved most in the world, and ill and alone, found himself at the shelter.

Cuba spent the first 12 years of his life with his owner.

The inseparable pair adored each other, but tragically, fate had other plans.

Abandoned and alone

When Cuba's owner died, the poor pup lost everything familiar to him.

He was taken in by relatives at first, but the situation quickly became unsustainable. Cuba didn't get along with the resident cats and so he was taken to the Dog Tales shelter in Ontario, Canada.

Cuba's age already makes a prospective adoption more challenging, but unfortunately the little dog's bad luck doesn't end there. He also has a tumour, dental disease and allergies.

Compassion for Cuba

Sharing his story to TikTok, Dog Tales explain "we need all hands on deck for this one".

Appealing to followers and supporters, the rescue is desperately hoping for "an adoptive home for this sweet guy". Once he's safe and comfortable, they will carry out all veterinary treatment required to remove the tumour on his foot.

His video has been viewed over 7,000 times so far, so we hope it won't be long before this golden oldie has a soft, warm bed and all the love he deserves.
