When Abby Nelson found a 5-week-old puppy abandoned on the street, she knew she had to help him. She could never have predicted what he would become.

Abby found Wolfie when he was a tiny puppy. With his tiny ears and soft, white coat, he was the cutest little boy.

The poor pup was all alone, clearly having been abandoned by the people who were supposed to care for him.

A heartwarming rescue

The dog lover decided to take Wolfie in, offering him a forever home with her.

As he grew, she started to notice unexpected changes in her four-legged friend, but she never expected the transformation that was about to come.

"Still in shock"

Posting a hilarious video to TikTok, Abby starts with an image of Wolfie when she first got him.

"I'm still in shock honestly", she captions the clip. And viewers can immediately see why, as the image jumps to Wolfie as an adult dog.

With his pointy ears and his scruffy coat, he is totally unrecognisable!

"Wolfie looks like Danny Devito transitioned to a werewolf, but gave up half way", wrote one amused viewer. "That's not a werewolf, that's a WHYwolf", replied another.

"Is this real?", asked a user, to which Abby confirmed, "unfortunately yes. It's the reality I live with everyday".

Jokes aside, it turns out that Wolfie's transformation is more incredible that it seems. In an interview with US magazine Newsweek, Abby explained that at some point Wolfie started having problems with his back legs. "I thought he would just move less. But instead he trained his upper body to be strong enough to carry him anywhere".

A true survivor in every sense of the word!
