Dogs need lots of exercise and enrichment in their daily lives, but what if they're in a shelter? Volunteer dog trainer Wesley Swainston has the solution.

Marine and volunteer dog trainer Wesley Swainston from North Carolina is making headlines after taking out a group of shelter dogs often overlooked for adoption.

Daily runs for unwanted pups

Wesley regularly volunteers at his local shelter in Jacksonville. Recognising the importance of exercise and enrichment for dogs' well-being, Wesley decided to give these overlooked pups a memorable experience.

The dog lover wants to give the dogs some much-needed exercise, show their true potential to potential adopters, and highlight the importance of exercise for dogs' physical and mental health.

In a viral video shared online, Wesley arrives at the shelter and takes out the excited dogs for a run. The dogs, filled with joy, eagerly joined him on the run, their reactions captured in the heartwarming footage.

Well-being of shelter dogs

The dogs featured in the clip include Cindy, Rooster, and Hondo, each with unique stories. Cindy had been returned to the shelter twice due to her high energy, while Rooster and Hondo, Australian Shepherds, were brought back after escaping.
