While Eliott has gained weight since arriving at the shelter in almost skeletal condition, he is still plagued by constant stress that haunts him in his kennel.

When the dog arrived at the shelter in Sarthe, France, he was emaciated and in a terrible state.

Lovely nature but very anxious

The two-year-old Shepherd and Beauceron mix has a lovely character, but his anxious behaviour hints at a troubled past.

While Eliott has shown significant physical and emotional improvement since he arrived, he still struggles with being in a shelter-type environment. The poor pup gets very stressed and is easily excited, making it hard for him to calm down.

However, despite his urgent need for a stable family to provide him with love and emotional support, shelter staff find it challenging to find him the right home.

So, they took to social media to share Eliott's story in the hope that someone would come forward to give him the home he deserves – while having a good understanding of what they'll be taking on.

Active, patient and loving

Elliott's tendency to be overly assertive makes him unsuitable for households with young children. However, he could thrive in a family with older, respectful children or teens. He also loves the company of other dogs but doesn't seem to be able to tolerate cats.

Prospective owners would need to be both active and incredibly patient, willing to take him on long walks and give him lots of mental stimulation. He'll also need to build on his basic training.

With his handsome good looks and affectionate nature, Eliott will make a wonderful pet for someone willing to offer him a loving home.

We hope this lovely dog doesn’t have long to wait.
