Shey had almost given up finding a new home as he battled a range of health problems. But then she met Tristan and her life transformed.

The 14-year-old poodle found himself at the Animal Rescue League when his owners moved away and no longer wanted him.

Unwanted and unloved

However, as time went on, it seemed that Shey would never find a new family to adopt him. In addition to being an older dog, Shey was toothless, nearly blind, and deaf, which likely put off potential adopters.

But then, a young boy named Tristan visited the shelter looking for a cuddly pup. When he met little Shey, Tristan immediately fell in love.

Despite the dog’s age, health problems and special needs, Tristan’s heart was set on adopting him.

Love and care

Since then, Shey has settled into his new home with Tristan very well. The inseparable pair share an incredible bond. Shey eagerly awaits Tristan’s return from school and happily melts into his arms, where he’s happy to stay.

While Shey loves the entire family, something special about Tristan brings out the best in him.

Despite Shey’s challenging circumstances, Tristan’s love and care have brought immense happiness to the senior dog’s final days. This showcases the power of compassion and the difference one small act of kindness can make in the life of an abandoned animal.
