With the arrival of spring, dog owners in their droves are heading to the beach with their canine companions for some seaside fun.

Most dogs relish the opportunity to head to the beach and play in the sand, as seen in a viral video featuring the antics of two German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix brothers.

Beach day antics

Posted by their owner, Brittany Laulu, the video, captioned, “My dogs share one brain cell,” captures the mischievous mutts’ beach day antics, leaving viewers in stitches.

The footage shows the dogs enthusiastically digging in the sand. However, their digging takes a comical turn as one of the dogs stands behind the other, eagerly trying to catch the flying sand in its mouth.

It is a mystery whether the dog is digging for his brother's benefit, but it certainly makes for hilarious viewing.

Post-beach bath and brush

Despite viewers' concerns, Brittany reassured everyone that the dogs emerged unscathed from their sandy ordeal. A quick clean-up ensured no sand found its way into sensitive areas.

After a bath and thorough brushing, the brothers were all clean and sand-free.

We’re just glad it’s not us that has the mighty task of cleaning up these two playful pups.

Here's the comical clip:

Eating sand can be harmful to dogs, potentially causing gastrointestinal blockages, irritation, and dehydration. Therefore, it’s important to watch your dog closely when they are at the beach. If your dog ingests sand or begins vomiting, having diarrhoea, or discomfort after a trip to the beach, get them checked out by a vet as soon as possible.
