Tragically, the adorable pup has never known what living in a proper family home is like.
Her entire life in kennels
Mia has spent her entire life in kennels, that’s four years and four months (equivalent to 32 years in dog time). She’s currently being cared for at the RSPCA’s Southridge Animal Centre.
However, despite witnessing 1,596 pets find their families during her stay, Mia’s search for a loving owner continues. But her spirit remains unbroken, buoyed by the hope that it will be her turn soon.
Mia’s caretakers at the animal centre have taken to TikTok to share Mia’s story, hoping that someone will come forward to offer her a forever home.
The heartbreaking video reflects on how Mia must feel to be still waiting to find love with a family who will give her the happy ending she dreams of.
Loving and patient
Mia’s ideal adopters would be experienced dog owners with no children or other pets in the home. She’d also require a secure garden to play in. The shelter urges anyone interested in adopting Mia to visit the shelter regularly first so Mia can get to know them and build trust.
Despite spending so long in kennels, Mia is a very intelligent dog keen to learn. Her caretakers believe that she’d thrive in a nurturing environment.
However, finding Mia a loving and patient home is becoming critical as time goes on. After all, kennel life is no life for a dog, especially one as loving and patient as Mia.
We hope Mia doesn’t have to wait much longer to find her perfect match; she deserves a happy ending.
