An urgent plea has been sent out to find three pound dogs a rescue space before their time runs out.

The following dogs are in a dog pound in the Sheffield area. They have served their seven days, so unfortunately, they do not have much time. If no rescue space can be found for them, they are likely to be humanley euthanised. Can anyone help these sweet babies?

Diesel the Shepherd

Diesel the Shepherd cross was brought into kennels after sadly being dumped at a police station. Diesel is a large-sized shepherd dog and according to his microchip, is 3 years old. Diesel was used to free roaming on a farm and so is not a fan of being kennelled or crated. Diesel is house-trained, but does sometimes chew the odd thing when left alone in the house. Diesel has shown no negative reactions towards other dogs he’s kennelled next to. Diesel is larger than he looks in the photos and does pull on the lead, so will need a strong, capable handler.

Meeko the brindle Mastiff

Meeko the Mastiff cross was brought into kennels after being found roaming as a stray. He is unfortunately not microchipped so his date of birth is unknown, but the kennels have aged him at around 10/11 months. Meeko is very friendly and playful. He knows how to sit on command but hasn’t had much more training than that. He does pull and is strong on the lead and will also need a gentle reminder when it comes to house training. Meeko has shown no negative reactions to the dogs he’s kennelled next to.

Ivy the Cane Corso

This lovely Cane Corso girl was found roaming and remained unclaimed. Unfortunately, her microchip is unregistered, so her date of birth is unknown, but the kennel staff have aged her at around 4 years old. Ivy has sadly had her tail docked and ears cropped in the past. Despite this, she is very friendly with all the people she meets. She has no negative reactions towards other dogs. She knows basic commands such as sit and paw. Ivy may need a gentle reminder when it comes to house-training and is strong on the lead.
