Rescued by the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, Courage’s journey to recovery has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Buried alive
SPCA Inspector Lee Prins played a crucial role in saving Courage’s life, tirelessly digging through layers of sand to rescue the trapped canine.
Before his rescue, Courage was severely neglected. He wasn’t vaccinated or neutered, underfed, and uncared for.
His neglect led to severe health issues, including a life-threatening disease, skin conditions, emaciation, untreated arthritis, and a Transmissible Venereal Tumour (TVT). Courage underwent extensive treatments, including chemotherapy, displaying unwavering determination in overcoming each challenge.
Remarkable transformation
Today, it’s as if he’s a completely different dog, unrecognisable from the desperate state that he was found in. Happy and full of life, Courage now enjoys the love and care of his new family, the Mentoors.
Owner Jarryd Mentoor has loved watching Courage’s progress, describing him as a caring and intelligent companion who thrives in his new home. The Mentoors feel fortunate to have Courage in their lives, cherishing the resilient dog who has conquered adversity to find a forever home filled with love and joy.
