This Thanksgiving two dogs in Texas had a lot to be grateful for. Rescued just in time, they now have a chance at a new future.

Two dogs have been given a second chance in life after they were found abandoned at a construction site.

Their rescuers quickly realised they had special needs. Their condition meant they would need to find a rescue just as special as them, to offer them all the veterinary attention and care they required.

A special pair

Thankfully rescue group Special Pals stepped in, offering them a temporary home while they waited for their furever home.

The vet team worked out the dogs had Microphthalmia, which may be the result of a double merle breeding. The condition means they have very little eyes. Because of this, their vision is impaired, and they also have some hearing issues.

New beginnings

The adorable pair were found with another sibling. He had no problems with his vision or hearing, and has already been adopted

If Special Pals hadn't stepped in, the dogs were at risk of being euthanised, but thanks to the caring rescue, they now have a chance at happiness.

While they wait to find their families, they will be given all the love they deserve.
