Vlad is being cared for at the Shelter for Homeless Animals in Celestynów.
Heartbreaking story
Despite being a relatively young dog, Vlad's life has been marked by heartbreak and suffering, having been rescued from Ukraine alongside his loyal companion, Odin.
At the shelter, Vlad initially displayed signs of deep-seated fear and withdrawal. He sought solace in the corner of his kennel as if hoping that no one would be able to see him. His every move betrayed a history of trauma inflicted by humans.
Yet, the volunteers at the shelter refused to give up on Vlad.
Through countless hours of dedicated effort, their hard work has paid off. Gradually, Vlad began to open up, cautiously rebuilding his shattered trust in humanity.
Today, he welcomes kisses and affection, occasionally seeking attention, though large crowds still trigger his anxiety.
Adoption betrayal
Everyone was then delighted when a family expressed interest in adopting Vlad. However, on the anticipated adoption day, they failed to show up and didn't respond to the shelter's calls.
Heartbreakingly, the volunteers later discovered that the family never intended to adopt Vlad in the first place.
Shelter staff are desperate to find someone with a big heart and plenty of patience who will adopt this sweet dog and give him the loving home he so desperately deserves.
