In a heartwarming clip shared on TikTok, you can see what it’s like when a new foster kitten is introduced to the resident adult cat.
When Joey met Badger
Joey is a black and white male cat who likes to relax and take it easy. Badger, on the other hand, is a tiny ginger kitten who's full of beans.
As the caption so rightly puts it, “Joey is every single dad who “doesn’t want a cat”".
The video starts with Joey relaxing on a soft white blanket. His owner then places the tiny kitten onto the blanket next to him. Badger starts kneading the older cat, who quickly gets fed up and gets him to stop by nipping him on the head. But Badger the kitten is not deterred.
He’s determined to get the older grumpy cat on his side. He tries batting Joey on the face a few times with his paw, but that only leads to Joey giving him another nip on the head.

The two cats can then be seen sitting close together, but Badger is still desperate to get Joey’s attention. Joey continues to resist Badger’s charms for a little while before eventually giving in and giving the younger cat a thorough head wash.
In just 30 minutes, Joey had accepted Badger into his life and seemed quite happy to act as the kitten’s surrogate mum.
People couldn’t resist commenting on such an adorable video, with some comparing Badger the kitten to the singer Ed Sheeran, while others urged the poster to keep Badger now that he has such a strong bond with Joey. They certainly looked to be best of friends now.
