A man whose cat went missing was over the moon when it returned home. But then, a few days later, his actual cat showed up. Now this guy has two identical-looking kitties!

Stanislav Zak endured many sleepless nights after his black and white cat went missing last year. Zak hoped and prayed that the little guy would return.

Double trouble

And then it did, or at least that's what Zak thought. About a week later, a second black-and-white tuxedo cat appeared at Zak's door. It looked identical to the first one—and we mean identical.

Zak was - to say the least  - a little bit freaked out by this odd occurrence. Was he seeing double? Had his prayers opened up a portal to a parallel dimension?

Stanislav was stumped. Then the confused cat dad had an idea that was as genius as it was simple. Zak took several pictures of the twin cats and compared them to old photos of his cat.

After thorough analysis, Zak determined that the second cat was actually his 'real cat.' Therefore, the first part of the mystery was solved.

As for the second part, Zak remains in the dark. He doesn't know where the doppelganger cat came from or why it appeared at such a fortuitous moment. He'll probably never know. Still, when the universe gives you a gift like this, you must embrace it with open arms. And so Zak decided to let the first cat stay. It felt like the right thing to do.

Weird. Just weird.

Stanislav shared the story via his Twitter account, along with a picture of the two kitties and this caption:

"Last month my cat disappeared. A week ago I found him and brought him home. Today my cat came back. Now I have two cats."

Some questions have no answer. But who really cares?

A cat has a new home, another kitty has a new fur brother, and Zak now has two whiskered bundles of joy in his life.

All's well that ends well.
