The Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey shared a TikTok of the tiny tabby standing upright, jumping repeatedly at the window of the cat enclosure with wide eyes and frantic paws.
Her clear goal? Get noticed. And it worked.
Relentless kitten
The video, posted on 10 July, has now been viewed over 3.7 million times. Viewers were smitten by the kitten’s relentless effort, calling it an “instant adoption” technique. One user joked, “If all of them were hopping around like this I fear I’d take them all.”
Just like here in the UK, shelters across the US continue to face overcrowding, with nearly 2.9 million cats entering shelters last year. Kittens, especially under five months, make up more than half of those numbers, according to the National Kitten Coalition.
Top marks for effort
But this spirited feline refused to blend into the background. Her unique strategy not only caught the attention of shelter visitors, it earned her a new home.
The SPCA confirmed in the comments: the jumping kitten has been adopted. Viewers agree she earned top marks for effort and charm.
