A naughty Labrador pup decided to tear up some small, shiny bits of paper during playtime. But that paper was actually a pile of cash notes. Oh dear.

Owning a pet can be expensive. Toys, food, vet bills, and birthday treats - they all add up. Obviously, our pets are worth every penny, but it can be hard work to ensure dogs get everything they need and deserve.

But things could always be worse. In fact, they could be much worse. So when you find yourself stressing about the price of quality dog food going up AGAIN, please spare a thought for this next owner.

This was not good

Because her dog, a very innocent-looking Labrador puppy, recently chewed up £2,000 worth of cash. Seriously.

The dog belongs to 27-year-old Kim from Florida, USA, who shared the story via her TikTok account. The short clip shows the Labrador sitting on the sofa admiring her work. And by work, we mean a pile of torn-up dollar bills.

The camera then pans to Zoe. Her expression says it all: "I can't believe what this dog has done, but I can't be angry."

Kim captioned the video"When you leave your Lab alone for two hours, and she manages to get to the cash on top of the table and eats about two grand, who wants her?"

A costly lesson

Kim shared a second video a few days later, which showed Kim and her husband taping the notes together. The Labrador is nowhere in sight. That was a smart move on Kim's part. We presume the pooch was in the kitchen munching on something a little less expensive, like a chewy toy!

The bank was able to accept half of the repaired notes. Still, this was a costly mistake for Kim, and we're sure she'll never make it again.
