A few weeks ago, Mary and Mark McCraw went to meet a rescue dog at her foster home.
The pitbull, named Maggie, had previously belonged to an unscrupulous breeder who used her only to make puppies - but otherwise neglected her completely.
Love at first sight
Mark and Mary had been touched by Maggie’s story, so they decided to meet her, but they knew they wouldn’t adopt her. They had recently lost their own dog, Mischka, to cancer, and simply didn’t feel ready for a new dog.
But when they showed up at Maggie’s foster home, it was love at first sight. Maggie ran up to Mark and instantly plopped down on his lap. Her tail wagged furiously as she licked his face and head. That’s when everyone knew: Maggie had found her forever home.
An unforgettable moment
Maggie’s foster mum, Andra Mack, said:
Maggie has since been living her best life in her new home. And her paw-rents couldn’t be happier with her in their lives.
