People hear whimpering inside a van: Their worst fears were soon confirmed

It seems obvious that pets should not be left inside cars for too long, if at all. Yet, some people just don’t seem to be getting the message.

In December of last year, people walking by a public parking lot heard whimpering sounds coming from a van.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t get into the parking lot as it was fenced in. But they knew something was wrong, so they decided to call the police.

Dogs found locked inside an abandoned car

The police used tools to break the fence open, then walked to the van to take a look inside.

There, they found four dogs who had been left with no food or water. To make matters worse, the parking lot had been closed the night before, which means the dogs had been locked inside at least 24 hours.

A chance for a new life

Without the intervention of the kind passers-by and the police, the dogs would’ve probably run out of oxygen and been completely dehydrated before the parking lot reopened at the end of the weekend. Who knows whether they would’ve survived that long.

Thankfully, the worst was avoided and the dogs were brought to the city hostel where they were fed and cared for until an animal rescue could come pick them up.
