Growing up alongside a pet is one of the most magical experiences one can have in a lifetime. And this adorable video of a Newfie and his little girl is a perfect example of why.

In this viral video, a young girl named Sierra can be seen getting ready to go to school. Before they leave the house, Sierra’s mum asks Sierra to kiss her dog Samson goodbye.

Little girl and giant dog are the best of friends

So Sierra turns around and adorably plants three little kisses on Samson’s nose, before turning back around and wiping her face clean! What’s even cuter than her show of love is how Samson reacts! As Sierra kisses his snout, he wags his tail happily, leaning into her face – clearly enjoying all of the attention.

What a beautiful relationship these two share! It’s clear that Sierra is very comfortable around her dog and vice-versa. The two are completely natural around each other, and the love between them is evident. It’s clear they are the best of friends.

Newfoundland character

Newfoundlands, affectionately called “Newfies”, are one of the best breeds for children. In fact, the “nanny” dog in Peter Pan was a Newfoundland. Though they are absolutely gigantic in size, Newfies are extremely gentle, affectionate, and have a soft spot for young humans.

If you’re looking for a dog to add to the family, then a Newfie like Samson might be the perfect choice for you!

We urge Wamiz readers to always be cautious when letting a pet play with a child. No matter how sweet pets can be, they may sometimes feel uncomfortable with a child's rough play and children can’t always pick up on that. Better safe than sorry, always supervise interactions between a child and an animal!
