Scott Hubbard was looking for a furry friend rather than a fearless protector. And that's why he decided to adopt an adorable Chihuahua named Gracie.
Still, with the Chihuahua's reputation for being 'yappy' and a little feisty, he assumed Gracie would do a good job deterring any intruders.
Gracie gets busted!
But just a few hours into her first shift as the family protector, Scott caught Gracie napping on the job!
A short clip posted on Instagram shows Gracie in full chill-mode while stretched out on a mini-little sun-lounger.
Scott decided to carry out a performance review. And unfortunately, it was a 0/10 for Gracie the guard dog.
She has since been relieved of all guarding duties. However, as Scott told the Dodo, Gracie makes a huge contribution in other ways:
"She is extremely loving and happy."
Just keep being you, Gracie!
And having a super chill-dog also has its benefits:
"She's the most relaxed dog I've ever met in my life," continued Scott. "I never have to think, 'I wonder what Gracie is doing?'"
Gracie just isn't cut-out for that guard dog life. But it doesn't matter. She still makes Scott smile every day, and what more could a dog-dad ask for?
