As they were crossing a bridge, the couple heard whining.
At first, they thought it might simply be the birds, but it seemed as though the whining came from the water. Unsure, they decided to stop and inspect the area.
Strange sounds
The two followed the sound on foot, which led them to a horrifying sight – one they are not likely to forget any time soon. A dog, visibly wounded, was in the water. She was unable to move because she had been wrapped in a plastic bag, which had been loaded with bricks. It is thought that whoever left her there wanted her to die.
We are glad she didn’t give them the satisfaction.
A whole new start
Although she was cold and weak, the pup was lifted out of the water and taken to a nearby rescue centre, where she was fed and given medical treatment. Despite the horrible things she had been through, she turned out to be a very affectionate dog.
She has since been adopted and is living her best life with a loving family who will spoil her rotten for the rest of her life.
The people responsible for her plight are still actively being searched for by the police.
