It was around 6 a.m., and Flint was hurrying to get to his 12 chickens.
His heart skipped a beat
Suddenly, Flint spotted movement in the yard and his heart skipped a beat. There was a wolf in his yard! It opened its mouth, and Flint was terrified.
Flint quickly rushed back inside his house with his dog, Stella.
Watching the so-called wolf from the window, Flint realised the intruder in his yard was actually... a dog!
A friendly visitor
Flint and his partner watched the dog, who was sitting near their bins, for a while. They soon decided that the animal seemed friendly.
They left out a bowl of water and some food for him.
The dog approached the couple and began to lick their hands. He seemed to be just as hungry for affection as he was for food!
Flint took the dog to a local vet to check if he was microchipped.
He had no form of identification. The vet estimated he was between one and two years old.
The dog had an injured paw. He had possibly been hit by a car while he was straying.
The couple searched for lost dog adverts for him, but they couldn't find any.
They decided to name him Balto and welcome him into their home.
Balto gets on wonderfully with their dog Stella and is thriving in his new home, where he is showered with love and attention. He certainly came to the right place!
