Cats are often portrayed as animals that are independent, aloof, and sometimes even unkind. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. While each animal is an individual, many cats are loving and affectionate towards their owners.
As the little girl cries, the cat creeps up close to her. Meowing along as if to ask her “what’s wrong”, he also places his paws on her chest. Applying pressure like this is actually what some therapy dogs are trained to do when their owners are having panic attacks. But this cat does it on his own, as if by instinct.
With her beloved kitty’s presence, the child’s sadness seems to slowly fade away.
Cat fans rejoice
The video has of course gone viral and been viewed over 1 million times. And, as some dog people might find surprising, the comments are filled with stories of people who own or have owned cats that did the exact same thing when they were feeling blue.
If you thought cats couldn’t pick up on feelings the way dogs can, then we’re sure that this video has got you seeing things in a very different light!
