Lockdown is hard for all of us but for dog lovers who don't have a pup of their own, it's particularly cruel. No playdates, no dog parks, no dog interactions at all!

Unless of course, you’re an adorable 8-year-old boy, willing to take matters into your own hands.

A cute letter written by the 8-year-old boy called Troy has recently done the rounds on social media and it seems that little Troy is speaking for dog lovers everywhere.

A little puppy love

When a resident in Troy’s apartment block got a brand-new Golden Retriever puppy, called Arthur, Troy was very keen to play with the pup.

But, as the world is far from normal at the moment, little Troy knew he needed to keep his distance so instead wrote a carefully worded letter:

“Hello neighbours, my name is Troy, I’m in 4th grade and I’m just wondering if maybe after this virus you need a dog sitter and if so, I can take your dog on walks and more.”

An internet sensation

The pup’s owner shared the adorable letter on Instagram and unsurprisingly, it became a hit attracting over 18,000 likes.

The story has a heart-warming ending too. It seems that Troy and Arthur recently had a socially distanced playdate where Troy told Arthur all about his other dog friends and even showed him some dance moves.

We cannot wait for life to return to normal and for us to get an update on the cutest interspecies fledgling friendship since Timon and Pumba.
