When Spot the stray cat turned up at the Lichfield and Tamworth Branch of Cats Protection, it was obvious that life on the rough streets had taken its toll.
Spot needs a make-over
Spot was emaciated, scraggy, and his ears had swollen up to twice their normal size. In other words, he wasn't looking his best.
But then a group of cat lovers saw his story on social media and decided to help.
They collected over £2,000 in donations to pay for a full cosmetic make-over, including extensive dental work and plastic surgery on his ears.
The money also covered the cost of neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping. So now this former street cat is ready to find his first forever home.
Spot is ready to begin a new life
Sue Hocknell is a team leader at Cat's Protection. She witnessed Spot's transformation from an 'aesthetically challenged' kitty to a feline fit for the catwalk. She said:
"We would like to once again thank all those generous people...[they] really made all the difference."
Spot is looking for owners who want a friendly house cat. And he'd prefer to be the only furry guy in your life. We think that's fair enough. Because after years of living life as an 'ugly cat,' it's about time he got all the attention!
