Cold, alone and tied to a metal fence outside a shelter, little Misty must have been very upset and confused, but her confusion didn't cause her to bark or pull; instead, she waited patiently to be rescued.
When staff members arrived at work at the RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre, they were shocked to see a gorgeous blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier tied to the front gate.
Frightened but friendly
They had no idea how long she'd been there, only that she was delighted to see them and even more delighted to be set free. She waited patiently with her head between the bars while the workers freed her.
Workers noticed that she was very thin, had a skin condition and cuts on her nose, which led them to think she hadn't been very well taken care of.
Neglected pup
They noticed she was microchipped, but when they got in touch with the owners, they were told she'd been rehomed years earlier.
All in all, little Misty needed a lot of love and attention. She's currently relaxing and recuperating at the shelter, and when she's ready, will be put up for adoption, where we hope she'll never have to worry about being abandoned again.
The RSPCA confirmed that abandoning a pup, even if it's right outside a shelter, is never the answer.
We wish Misty all the very best.
