Just before the hail began to fall on the city, a member of the city's school staff spotted something among the rocks.
As he got closer, he saw it was actually an abandoned pet carrier with rocks piled on top.
A call for help
Deeply concerned that an animal might be trapped inside, the employee quickly called the team at San Antonio Animal Care Services (ACS) for help. The rescue team rushed to the scene just before the hailstorm swept across the city.
There, they discovered a small female dog locked inside, trembling with fear. No one knows how long she had been trapped, but it's likely she had been in that sad situation for some time...

When they freed her from the carrier, the rescuers also noticed she wasn't in good physical condition. She had red patches on her skin and had lost a lot of her fur. Fortunately, after a few days of care, the little dog, now named Stormie, began to regain her strength and confidence.
Just a few days later, a family came forward to adopt her and give her a forever home. We wish Stormie all the best and are certain she now has nothing to fear for the future.
