Thrown into an underground bin: dog fights for survival after dramatic rescue

By Ludivine Mazzotti•

On Sunday 27 September, firefighters in Malo-les-Bains, near Dunkirk in northern France, were called out to a deeply shocking incident.

A little dog had been "thrown" alive into an underground rubbish bin.

The poor pup was in a deeply worrying state when the firefighters arrived at the scene.

Saved in the nick of time

Thankfully, the firefighters managed to pull the dog out of the bin. They gave him first aid and quickly realised the poor dog was severely deprived of oxygen.

They put him on oxygen therapy and did everything they could to stabilise him. The little dog was then taken in by rescuers from the SPA (the French equivalent of the RSPCA) before being examined by a vet in Calais.

A real team effort

In a Facebook post, the Malo Firefighters' Association praised the hard work of the entire team. They highlighted their quick response and professionalism, which saved the life of this neglected dog.

We can only hope this brave little dog recovers from this terrible ordeal as quickly as possible. We are sending him all our love and support.
