In 2021, over several weeks, Chase noticed that her dog Ceto, a Labrador cross, was behaving strangely at home.
The dog seemed very anxious around the house and whenever he got close to Chase.
Worrying behaviour
This was completely out of character for him. At first, Chase didn't take the change in his behaviour seriously, thinking it would pass. But one day, when Ceto nudged her left breast, she made a connection between his anxious behaviour and a possible illness.
She decided to see a doctor. Tests revealed that Chase had a very aggressive form of cancer in her left breast. She had to start chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment immediately.
Good news
Thanks to the dog's vigilance and clear communication, Chase is now cancer-free. But that's not all! In fact, this wasn't the first time Ceto had alerted his owners to a health problem.
A few years earlier, he had also detected colon cancer in Chase's husband. It's safe to say that Ceto is a true hero. The couple are eternally grateful to Ceto for alerting them in time and saving both their lives.
