On 23rd January, she was called out to rescue some stray kittens from a neighbour's garden.
With the freezing temperatures, her neighbour had noticed a black and white cat and its two siblings trying to find shelter on the patio.
Fearful felines
Leanne and her rescue team set up humane traps with some tempting food inside and then waited. Drawn in by the delicious smell, the kittens soon crept inside the cages.
The rescuers were then able to take the cats to the safety of the shelter. During the journey, the kittens were terrified and kept hissing, but they gradually began to relax. One kitten in particular started to stand out: the little black and white one.
Love at first sight
When Delilah, a volunteer foster carer, met this kitten, it was love at first sight. She named him Gosh Darnit and took him home with her. To start socialising him with people, Delilah gave him regular cuddles.
Once he realised he was safe and that his foster family was kind, his true personality began to emerge. He was unrecognisable: from a timid, withdrawn kitten, Gosh Darnit transformed into a curious little cat who wanted to be involved in everything that was going on.
The kitten didn't have to wait long to find his perfect family. He is now thriving in his new home, alongside his brother and sister. What wonderful news!
