When she was first found, the cat was completely alone and fending for herself.
Rescuers soon discovered she was expecting kittens and was about to give birth at any moment.
A birth just around the corner
Shortly after arriving at the shelter, Poppy gave birth to seven kittens! The cat impressed rescuers with her sheer courage. Despite being exhausted from giving birth, she immediately began caring for each of her little ones with touching devotion.
The very next day, a foster family took in the whole little brood. For several weeks, the young mum kept a close eye on her babies. She fed them, groomed them and protected them with love.
Melting hearts wherever she went
As the weeks went by, the kittens grew bigger and started catching the attention of visitors. Every single kitten found a forever home, but Poppy remained without a family of her own... Eventually, though, the thing she'd been longing for finally happened!
A family fell head over heels for her and decided to adopt her! Poppy left the shelter for good to start a brand new chapter in her life. She now enjoys the company of her new brother and sister, a cat and a dog, along with a life full of affection and calm. After pouring all her energy into raising her seven kittens, Poppy has finally been chosen for herself!
