In Florida, volunteers at the Abandoned Pet Rescue shelter were faced with a sight they won't soon forget...
Someone had abandoned a family of cats inside a birdcage, right on the shelter's doorstep.
An innocent family
It turned out to be a mother cat named Godiva and her four kittens. Squeezed in with her little ones, the poor mum had lost a lot of weight, and her kittens were far too young to survive on their own. Fortunately, the whole family was quickly placed into a loving foster home.
Over the following weeks, Godiva regained her strength, and each of the kittens began to show their own unique personality. Slowly but surely, the mother and two of her kittens found their forever homes. Sadly, the same couldn't be said for sisters Twix and Kit Kat, who are still waiting for a family of their own.
Finding a forever home
Now teenagers, the two sisters have grown into beautiful cats with very different characters. Twix is bursting with energy and curiosity. She's a true explorer who loves to climb, play, and run over for a cuddle as soon as someone approaches!
Her sister, Kit Kat, is a bit more reserved. She prefers to watch from a distance before building trust, but once she feels safe, she turns into an absolute sweetheart. Lap cuddles and long naps are her favourite things.
The rescuers have shared an appeal on social media to help these lovely cats find their perfect match. We really hope Twix and Kit Kat get adopted soon. After such a rough start in life, they truly deserve to experience the warmth of a loving home where they'll be cherished forever.
