A miraculous rescue
Last October, on Interstate 93 North in Massachusetts, US, a little kitten's life hung by a thread. Fortunately, a watchful motorist spotted the tiny creature in time to save her.
The Animal Rescue League of Boston quickly took her into their care, placing her safely with a foster family.
Black cat folklore
Named Freeway, the little black kitten immediately received attentive care. Being too young and too light to be put up for adoption right away, she went to stay with a foster family.
The Boston shelter hopes Freeway's story will encourage people to look past the old superstitions surrounding black cats. Traditional folklore still depicts black cats as witches' companions.
