A stray cat was crossing their garden, looking for somewhere warm to shelter.
The poor cat had been abandoned by his family and had nowhere to go to escape the cold.
A warm shelter
Luckily, the cat had come to the right place. He spotted the couple's garden shed and slipped inside. That's when the couple stepped in, making him a warmer bed inside a box placed on top of some logs. They named him Ralphie and gave him comfort, food and water.
The couple shared Ralphie's story in a video, addressing the person who had abandoned him directly: "To the person who abandoned their cat in the freezing cold… and left him to find shelter under our garden shed, out in the cold. I'm glad he found us. Because in our home, no one goes hungry or thirsty!".
An outpouring of support
Ralphie now has his own insulated shelter. In fact, as the couple showed in their video, the cat has given his new home his seal of approval. He loves his food and is an expert biscuit-maker, happily kneading his makeshift bed.
Viewers shared their feelings in the comments: "He's so cute! It's so sad, but thank you for giving him comfort and affection."
