Feral cat gives birth: her next move changes her kittens' lives forever (video)

By Ludivine Mazzotti

In March, a feral cat gave birth to two kittens in Montreal, Canada. She then left her newborn kittens on a family's doorstep.

The family was shocked to discover them on their doorstep.

One of the two kittens was completely cold and barely moving.

A desperate plea for help

They rushed the kittens inside to try and warm them up. Having no experience with newborns, they contacted the Chatons Orphelins Montreal rescue centre. The kittens were named Hermione and Griffon.

Both kittens were smaller than average, suggesting they might have been born prematurely. The rescuers placed them with a very experienced foster family to give them the best possible chance of survival.

A bright future ahead

Their foster mum weighed them every day to make sure they were gaining weight. Since birth, Hermione and Griffon have been absolutely inseparable. They are never far from each other and love to sleep curled up in a ball.

While Hermione is a little more mischievous, Griffon is the calmer of the two. They make an adorable and complementary pair. They have now put on weight and are growing well, spending their days happily in their loving foster home. We wish them all the best for the future.
